Updates and Important Information
1) Important Allergy Reminder:This is a reminder to our school community that we have people in the school who have scent allergies. Please do not wear strong scents to school as it affects a person's health. Additionally, please do not bring in fish, shellfish, eggs, or nuts. Thank-you.
2) Ministerial Close Out Day: On February 6th 2024 the Department of Education will be facilitating a close out day for teacher professional learning. There will be no school for students on this day.
3) Mid-Year Reports: Please note that mid-year reports will be available for any Grade 12 students on Friday, February 9th 2024. These reports are avilable upon request and for students applying to post-secondary institutions.
4) Wellness Day: February 14th 2024 the school will be hosting a Wellness Day for students and staff to engage in a day to support stress management, self-care, and overall strategies to improve your mental health.
5) Anti-Bullying Day: Pink shirt day is February 28, 2024. If you need a new one you can order it here and it will shop directly to the school! Shirts are $9.00 taxes and shipping included. Please see our facebook page for more details.

7) Study Hall: Do not forget about Study Hall. It is an excellent resource providing your student/child a distraction free and routine space to work on their studies. Study Hall is every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-4pm. Support from students and teachers are available. Don't be shy. Come to the Study Hall!
8) Term 2 End: Please note that Term 2 ends March 10th 2024. See calendar for more key dates surrounding it.
9) Banned Device: Please note that there have been a few students in the school identified to have the following device: Flipper Zero. This and other like devices are banned from school mainly due to the intent of the device including its capabilities to disrupt (prank) individuals and teachers.
10) BCP Athletic Shirts and Apparel: Students/Parents/ Guardians can now order Baccalieu Predators Athletics shirts through In the Box NL online store. The clothing options include: dri-fit short sleeve, dri-fit long sleeve, crew neck sweatshirt, and hooded sweatshirt all in grey or navy blue. NOTE: For some sports teams you will be asked to order a shirt with a number to be used as a jersey, this will be at the direct instruction of your coach. Do not order a shirt with a number without consulting directly with your coach. BCP Athletic shirts are a quality low cost option for short term sports teams. Good News Report (In no particular order)
- Senior Girls Volleyball: Congratulations to the senior girls volleyball team on securing gold in division B of the MPSH invitational this weekend. Special congratulations to Emma Bursey on receiving MVP of the tournament.
- Grade 9 Girls Volleyball: Congratulations to the grade 9 girls volleyball team on winning gold in tier 2 at 15U provincials this weekend
- Grade 7 Girls Volleyball: Awesome showing at the FRJH volleyball tournament. Keep working hard!
- Service Delivery Team Meeting: Thank-you Service Delivery team for all the amazing work that you do!
- Senior Boys Basketball: The BCP Senior Boys Basketball team competed this past weekend at the Ascension Collegiate Invitational. Come out and support your Predators Basketball. See the calendar for the attached schedule of games. The boys went 3-0 before losing to Carbonear in the final round robin game and then coming up short against Ascension in the sem-final game.
- Thank-you Teachers: Huge thank-you to our Baccalieu teachers for giving their 110% and very best intentions for our students everyday!
- KES: Thank-you Ms. LeShane for organizing our Kids Eat Smart breakfast program and thank-you to all of our community volunteers!
- Study Hall: Huge thanks to Mr. Holloway for giving up his time to support student learning every Tuesday and Wednesday afterschool!
- Graduation Photo Retakes: All Grad photos should be complete! Thank-you!
- Drama: Big thanks to our hardworking Drama Troupe preparing for the Drama Festival this year! Way to go and keep up the hard work!
- Doorways: Thank-you Doorways for being here and meeting with your students. We conversate all the time. Why not with someone who has your best interests in mind and is trained to help?
- TFT: Thank-you to our tutoring for tuition students!
Chess Club: Great work chess club! Thanks Mr. Holloway for leading this for our students.
