BCP Weekly Updates: Monday, June 22nd, 2026

Dear Families,

Thank you for taking the time to read this final Baccalieu Collegiate update of the 2025-2026 school year.  As another school year comes to a close, I would like to thank our students, families, staff, and community members for your continued support throughout the year. Your support plays an important role in helping make our school a positive place to learn, grow, and succeed.  On behalf of the staff of Baccalieu Collegiate, I wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming students back in the fall (September 9, 2026).

Updates and Important Information

  1. Year-End Field Trip - Monday, June 22nd
On Monday, June 22nd, there is no school for students; only the field trip.  All teaching staff will be going on the field trip.
Morning: Buses will pick up students at their regular stops and bring them to Baccalieu Collegiate for their regular start time.  Buses will leave the school at 8:30 am, and all buses will go up the North Shore (we will not be holding the buses for students who are late).
11:00 - Students will be dropped off at either bowling, laser tag, or get air (whatever was communicated to the office).
12:00-2:30 - Students will have time to go around the mall with their classmates. Students are expected to be with at least one other school member.
Afternoon: Buses will leave St. John's at approximately 2:30 pm, and will return "down each shore", dropping students off at their regular bus stops.

  2. Extra Curricular Awards Ceremony - Tuesday, June 23rd
Students, parents, and coaches are invited to attend Baccalieu Collegiate's Extra Curricular Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, June 23rd, at 1:00 pm.  This ceremony will recognize contributions and accomplishments in athletics, clubs, fine arts, leadership, and other activities throughout the 25-26 school year.

  3. Musical Coffee House
Baccalieu Collegiate is hosting a musical Coffee House on Wednesday, June 24th at 6:00 pm ($3 entry).  We look forward to seeing you there!

  4. Report Card Day - Thursday, June 25th
Junior High Students (7-9): Buses run as usual in the morning and pick up only Junior High students.  Junior High students enter the school, pick up their report cards and pick up any belongings they've left at the school before being dismissed at 9:30 am (when the bus will bring them home).
Senior High Students (10-12): Buses will pick up only Senior High students 2.5 hours after their usual morning pick up time. Senior high students will enter the school, pick up their report cards and pick up any belongings they've left at the school before being dismissed at 12:30 pm (when the bus will bring them home).

This is the final day for students.

  5. Rycor Fees
Although PowerSchool is unavailable until Thursday, Rycor is accessible through its website (https://www.studentquickpay.com/nlesd/).  Families with outstanding fees are asked to make every effort to have them paid by Wednesday, June 24.

Families who may require additional support or flexibility with payment should communicate with the school.

  6. Sports Uniforms and School Textbooks
Students who have the school's sports uniforms/jerseys must bring them back by Wednesday, June 24th.  If athletes who have jerseys want to have the same one next year, they can speak to Ms. Oliver to make arrangements.  Returning uniforms helps ensure they are available for future teams and players. The replacement cost of any unreturned school-owned uniform or jersey will be added to the student's Rycor account.

Students are asked to return all textbooks and learning materials by Wednesday, June 24th.  Textbooks are shared resources that support student learning from year-to-year.  The replacement cost of any textbook that is not returned may be added to the student's Rycor account.

  7. Yearbook Orders
We are now taking 2025-26 yearbook orders.  The cost of a yearbook is $10, and you can access that under "Other" on Rycor.

  8. 25th Anniversary Committee
September 2027 will mark the 25th anniversary of Baccalieu Collegiate’s opening! We are planning to celebrate this milestone and would welcome members of the school community who are interested in helping plan and organize the event. If you would like to be involved, please email baccalieucoll@nlesd.ca.

  9. Absence / Sign-In / Sign-Out (Family)
Attendance is critical for academic and social success, as it ensures that students are actively engaged and able to fully benefit from the educational opportunities we provide. Please make sure that you sign your child in and out when arriving late or leaving early.

  10. Star Creations - BCP Apparel
Show your Baccalieu pride with school clothing/gear from Star Creations! Order online through the link on our school website under BCP Merchandise.
