BCP Family Weekly Updates: Monday, May 6th 2024 (DAY 4)

Dear Families,

May the 4th be with you this past Saturday. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend. Thank-you in advance for taking the time to review updates and important reminders! Any questions or concerns let me know. If I have missed anything please reply-all to this email.

                                              Updates and Important Information

1) Family Update: Did you know that when you receive a phone call at the end of the day indicating your son/daughter had an absenteeism, that means your son/daughter has a late unexcused or unexcused absence? If you receive this call check your son/daughter's Powerschool attendance to see what happened so that you can correct the behaviour immediately. If late was excusable, it would be. An unexcused absence from a class, means the student skipped class. Attendance must be addressed by the family as it is a family responsibility to ensure. Make sure you're setting your children up for success, now and in the future. Hold the fort on attendance -- it's the most importance.

2) Lion's Club Junior High Speak Out: The Junior High Lion's Club Speak-Out will take place on May 7th, at 7:00PM 2024 at Baccalieu Collegiate. Participating students are asked to arrive between 6:30 and 6:45PM.

3) Cadets ACR: Good luck to all of our Students participating in the Cadets program in our community who will be participating in their ACR this Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at Baccalieu Collegiate.

4) Spring Fling Dance: This Thursday, May 9th 2024 starting at 7pm to 9pm is a BCP Dance for our students! Please ensure you review BCP Dance Rules and Guidelines. Baccalieu Dances are a privilege, not a right.

5) Tentative School Close out: Please note that we have tentatively planned a BCP Close out on Friday, May 17th 2024 for School Development. Students will have the day off.

6) Social Media, Terms and Conditions for Student Use: Please take time and review the School District policySocial Media: Terms and Conditions for Student Use. It is especially important to review and understand the Privacy component of the policy.

7) Study Hall: A reminder that Study Hall is every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-4pm.  Support from students and teachers are available. Don't be shy. Come to the Study Hall!

8) Important Allergy Reminder:This is a reminder to our school community that we have people in the school who have scent allergies. Please do not wear strong scents to school as it affects a person's health. Additionally, please do not bring in fish, shellfish, eggs, or nuts. Thank-you.

So overall it was a very rewarding, memorable experience for everyone and our students had a blast! We are very proud!!!
