As many of you already know, plans before the Christmas holiday have shifted. While we will not be in the Tuesday and Wednesday before Christmas, we are planning on an important and joyous day tomorrow, Monday, December 20th 2021! Please do your best to spread kindness and optimism for our youth!

Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed the beginning of a white Christmas last night. We have a packed month of learning, fun and excitement ahead of us. Please see the following important updates:
1) Early Dismissal: Students will be dismissed early (12:00pm) on Monday, December 6th 2021. Cafeteria services will not be open this day.
2) Family-Teacher Conferences: Conferences with teachers will be held on Monday, December 6th 2021. These conferences will be held online. We are using new appointment booking software. Please see attached Parent Guides to help you register and book appointments with teachers: Parent Instructions and/or Condensed Parent Instructions. Families will need to register and create their child, before booking appointments (as per the instructions) https://bcp.schoolappointments.com/. Families will see teacher links within the online software that they will us at the time of their appointment for the online conferencing.
3) Term 1 Reports: Student reports will be sent home at the end of the day Friday, December 3rd 2021.
4) Close Out: Baccalieu Collegiate has a scheduled Close-out Friday, December 10th 2021. We wanted to get this information out to families as soon as possible to support any planning.

Good morning! I hope our students had a productive and relaxing day off. Please see the following updates for this coming week.
Updates and Important Information
1) Lifetouch Photos: Lifetouch school photos have arrived. Picture orders are due back by Monday, November 8th 2021. Retakes are scheduled for December 1st 2021.
2) Junior Girls Soccer: Best of luck today to Mr. Cashin and the Junior Girls Soccer team as they take on Amalgamated teams this afternoon in competition!
3) School Council: School Council will have its first meeting November 2nd 2021 at 6:15pm. Meeting minutes and information will be posted on our school website.
4) BCP Christmas Cash Lottery: This week we will be releasing our BCP Christmas Cash Lottery! First place draw will be $5000.00, 2nd Place $500.00, and 3rd Place $50.00. Students can earn $50.00 for every 50 tickets sold. Tickets are $5.00. The lottery is for raising funds for a much needed new volleyball system, outdoor basketball hoop (supplement a current grant), and to support our athletics department.
This fundraiser will be collected on December 17th 2021 and drawn on Old Christmas Day January 6th 2022. More details to come! Please gear up to sell tickets, not only for your chance to win, but to give yourself a few extra dollars for shopping around Christmas time (sell 50 tickets).
5) Tutoring (CDLI) Brochure: CDLI online Tutoring is available for any student. Please contact your respective subject teacher for more information.
6) Remembrance Day: Just a reminder that we will have our Remembrance Day assembly (students and staff only) on November 10th 2021. We will broadcast the assembly to our community. More information to come.
7) Remembrance Day Holiday: A reminder that November 11th 2021 is a holiday.

Important Note: Please supply your child with a reusable mask and/or a few disposable masks before coming to school. Also, remind them the importance of wearing their mask properly (over nose and mouth).
Updates and Important Information
1) Student Leadership Council: Please note that Baccalieu Collegiate is looking for students interested in being part of the BCP Student Leadership Council. This Council will be in charge of representing students, leading student activities, and leading change. Students will have opportunity to cultivate their leadership skills and abilities. To become part of the council, please see either Ms. Ruttgaizer and/or Ms. Noel.
2) Tutoring for Tuition: Any students interested in tutoring for tuition please see Mr. Saxby. The rate of pay is $12.75/hour and earnings go towards any tuition to a post-secondary institute.
3) Vax-Pass: Please note that the NLESD has implemented a Vax-Pass requirement for all Community Use of Schools and events that draw from the general public. More information will be present as it pertains to the events and people moving forward.
4) Halloween Activity Night & Dance: Sign-up for the Halloween Activity Night and Dance will continue this week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during lunch in the main lobby. Admission ($5.00) and Food Orders (BBQ hamburgers $3.50, jumbo hotdogs $2.00, canned Pepsi/Mountain Dew, bottle Water $1.00, extra toppings for hamburgers and/or hotdogs $1.00) must be pre-ordered. Admission and food orders will not be taken at the door or during the event. The event will take place Thursday, October 28th 2021 from 6pm to 9pm.
5) School Close Out: Baccalieu Collegiate will have a Close out Day November 1st 2021. Students are not permitted to attend.
6) School Council: School Council will have its first meeting November 2nd 2021 at 6:15pm.
7) Tutoring (CDLI) Brochure: Teachers, please see attached CDLI Tutoring opportunity for your students and families. You may want to access this for a student as part of an intervention strategy.
8) Remembrance Day: Baccalieu Collegiate will be having a Remembrance Day assembly on November 10th 2021. This event will be live broadcasted. The event will not be open to the public.
9) Awards Night: Baccalieu Collegiate is planning to host its Awards Night on December 20th 2021 starting 6:30pm. More details to come.
10) Calendar: Remember to check the Baccalieu Collegiate Events Calendar for a listing and times for all our events, Close out Days etc. This can be found on our website www.baccalieucollegiate.ca
