BCP Family Weekly Updates: Monday, January 4th 2022 (DAY 5)

Dear Families,

Happy New Year! I hope our families had a chance to relax and enjoy their holidays over the past weeks. Starting Tuesday, January 4th 2022 students will be continuing their learning for this school year at-home and online. This learning will continue at-home and online until directed otherwise. The Government will provide an update every Thursday regarding how we will move forward during the following week. Please see the following information. Any questions/concerns please feel free to contact the school.

Generally, students will begin their online day tomorrow at 8:35am with a Welcoming back assembly (google meet). This assembly will only take a few minutes but will highlight the most important points for students as they re-engage in online learning process. More information is found below. Students in Grades 7-12 will continue their full Powerschool schedule. It is DAY 5 tomorrow. Students will gain entry into their respective classroom meets via each of their google classrooms.

Updates and Important Information

1) Tuesday Morning: Our first day of school will include a Google Morning Meet with all students and staff. Please access the link in your respective homeroom teachers classroom and/or here. The meeting will begin at 8:40am sharp. Please join the meeting no later than 8:35-8:40am. This meeting will be important as the admin will outline the important expectations respective to our online learning.

2) Protocols for Online Learning:  Please access this information regarding Protocols for Online Learning. In particular, it is important to view the protocols at the bottom of the page for Grades 7-12 students. We will be continuing our normal Powerschool schedule. Students are expected to join classes and continue their learning and assessment.

3) Digital Readiness: Students and Families may find it beneficial to view the following resource in preparation for online classes:  Digital Readiness with Google Workspace. Students will gain access to each of their classes via the google classroom google meet link posted in respective google classrooms. The linked resource is a great crash course for any families unfamiliar with the software.

4) Google Resources: The following can provide families with further information into our google resources used for teaching and learning: Google Resources for School Communities Document

5) In-School Learning: Our Service Delivery Team will be meeting early this week before reaching out to families who have students with complex needs and who may require attending school during the online learning. The Service Delivery Team in consultation with respective families will confirm the best approach moving forward. Thank-you for your patience.

6) Meeting Norms: Please see attached two infographics with Meeting Norm Reminders: 1) Google Meet Norms 2) Distance Learning Checklist

5) Reminder Cash Lottery: Please remember to contact homeroom teachers if there are any outstanding tickets unsold and un-submitted.
