Dear Families,
We are now entering the final week before the holidays! Classes will continue as usual, with some added holiday spirit thanks to activities organized by our Student Leadership group. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review this week’s updates and important reminders.
Updates and Important Information
- Christmas Outing
Baccalieu Collegiate will be going on our annual Christmas Outing this Tuesday, December 16th! As per the Rycor Form/information, if you are skating, please ensure you have the proper equipment to go on the ice. As always, we hold the same behavioural expectations for our students on our outing as we do when they're at school. - School Council Christmas Dinner
We are happy to announce that our School Council will be having a Christmas Dinner for students and staff during lunchtime on Wednesday, December 17th! Thank you, School Council! - Christmas Talent Show
Our very first Christmas Talent Show will take place on Wednesday, December 17, at 7pm. It will be a new and wonderful way to kick off the holidays. Come out and share in the Christmas spirit with your children as they take to the stage to show off their talent to create some Christmas cheer! - Awards Ceremony and Cap & Gown - 2024/2025
Baccalieu Collegiate will be having our award ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year during periods 4 and 5 on Thursday, December 18th. All classes will attend. The public is welcome to join this event!
The evening Cap and Gown ceremony will begin at 7pm (graduates showing up 6:15pm), the same evening.
Congrats to all of our students who were awarded for their hard work, dedication, and positive contributions to our school community. Congratulations to our past graduates! We look forward to seeing them again! - Christmas Lottery 2025
Thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Lottery and contributed to its success! The generosity of our school community helps us continue to improve programs and opportunities for our students. - Friday Dismissal
Students will be dismissed from school at 12:45 pm on Friday, December 19th, for Christmas break. Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas! - Huskie Invitational Tournament
Congratulations to the Senior High Girls Predators Volleyball Team on winning the Tier 1 Championship this past weekend at the Huskie Invitational Tournament held at Mount Pearl Senior High. Congrats to Hannah Burt on being named MVP! These girls went above and beyond in their play and represented the school with great sportsmanship. Let's go Preds! - Tutoring for Tuition
Tutoring for Tuition is now available. If you feel your child would benefit from extra academic support, please reach out to Mrs. Reid or Mrs. Slade to get started. We’re happy to help students build confidence and strengthen their learning. - Drama Practices
Drama practice will continue until Christmas for senior students from 3-4 on Mondays and for juniors from 3-4 on Tuesdays. Scripts cost $25.00. Please pass along your money at your next practice and pick up your scripts. - Kids Eat Smart Breakfast Program
We are looking for additional volunteers for our KES Breakfast Program. Anyone interested, please contact Ms. LeShane at marleneleshane@nlschools.ca. - Star Creations - BCP Apparel
Show your Baccalieu pride with school clothing/gear from Star Creations! Order online through the link on our school website under BCP Merchandise. - 295 Baccalieu Sea Cadets
The 295 Baccalieu Sea Cadets would love to welcome new members! Cadets meet every Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the school. It’s a great opportunity for youth to build skills, make friends, and get involved in their community. - Code of Conduct
This year, we have introduced an updated Code of Conduct. Please make sure you review this with your child(ren): Code of Conduct - Absence / Sign-In / Sign-Out (Family)
Attendance is critical for academic and social success, as it ensures that students are actively engaged and able to fully benefit from the educational opportunities we provide. Please make sure that you sign your child in and out when arriving late or leaving early. - Extra Curricular Schedule
Baccalieu Collegiate offers extracurricular activities, including sports, drama, tutoring/study hall, DND, and more! Please check our Calendar and our Facebook page for schedules. - School Allergies
Please be aware that certain foods are prohibited at school due to severe allergies. We have students who may require an EpiPen if exposed to the listed allergens. - Cannabis and Smoke Free Policy
Please note Baccalieu Collegiate and the District support a Tobacco, Cannabis, Smoke and Smokeless Free Policy. This policy also prohibits clothing that promotes these products. District Policy Document - Dirtbikes & ATVs
We’ve received several concerns from community members about students driving dirt bikes and ATVs recklessly. We ask parents/guardians to take time to speak with your child(ren) about the importance of road safety and the responsible use of these machines. Safe operation protects not only our students but also everyone in the community. This is not only a safety concern, but a legal one as well. - Doorways
Doorways School Counselling Program is returning to Baccalieu Collegiate. They have increased their visits to be weekly. Please see their letter, which discusses the consent to treatment for counsellors. School DoorWays Program Letter - Lost & Found
Can't find something you brought to school? Check out our Lost & Found in the lobby. Still no luck? Let the office know. - Baccalieu Collegiate Updates Submission
