To ensure a positive experience for all participants, students must maintain appropriate behavior at school. Specifically, any student who has a behavioral incident involving disrespectful conduct (such as not listening to teachers, refusing to do work, disruptive behavior, or inappropriate language) in the month leading up to the trip may not be permitted to attend. A final review by staff will take place before the trip to determine each student’s eligibility.

We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations with your child. Our goal is to create an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all students while maintaining a respectful and positive school environment.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school.

Sincerely,

Family - Teacher Meetings: We will have Family-Teacher meetings take place Thursday, March 20th 2025 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. All parents/guardians are encouraged to attend and make connections with their child's teachers. If a parent/guardian cannot make it this day or during this time please reach out to the respective teacher. These meetings are imperative if your son/daughter is struggling in any respective class(s) to discuss meaningful interventions and how support can come from home.

Food First Survey: As we move forward with school food programming throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, it is important to directly engage with families and understand their needs. Together with our partners at FoodFirstNL, we are launching a survey for  parents, caregivers and students to provide their input. Please see attached Food First Survey/Memo

The Truth About Vaping: Parents and students are encouraged to spend some time reviewing the following website, https://truthaboutvaping.ca/ to learn more about the harm of vaping.

Get Ahead: Do not forget to check out our BCP Calendar of Events to get a heads up with the many events happening in the coming weeks.

(Reminder) Important Information Regarding Emails: Our email system will automatically block any external incoming emails that have a blank subject line. This measure is in place to improve our overall email security and protect our schools, teachers, staff and students from potential threats. Emails with blank subject lines are often used by malicious actors to bypass spam filters and other security measures. By blocking these emails, we will be able to reduce the risk of phishing attacks and enhance email filtering. Always include a relevant subject line when sending emails. Thank you for your attention to this matter and your understanding as we try to maintain the safest communication system possible.

(Reminder) NISEP Host Family Information (Families): Any families interested in hosting a student to come to Baccalieu Collegiate from abroad please see the following NISEP MEMO. This mutually beneficial program allows everyone a win!

(Reminder) Personal Electronic Device (PED) Policy:  All students who bring PED to school are required to check-in their PED at respective hotels.
